About Amber
I have been giving lessons for over a year to clients from a range of ages and backgrounds. I achieved 13A*/A grades at GCSE, and A*A*A at A-Level (in maths, economics, and further maths), and am now studying Economics at UCL. My main goal when teaching is to increase confidence and develop understanding, which I believe is the best way to learn maths and pass exams.

I intend to teach children aged 7-15, who are perhaps struggling with maths or trying to solidify their knowledge. I know that for many people, maths is a challenge which leads to a hate towards the subject, however, I genuinely believe that, with enough confidence, maths becomes satisfying to everyone.
My lessons completely depend on what parents, with their children, are trying to achieve. If it is to catch up with classwork, I will bring exercises relevant to what their child will be studying. If it is to extend their knowledge further, I will bring more advanced exercises that stretch current understanding. If there is a focus on exams, practising under pressure will of course be vital.
In terms of general structure, we begin with warm up exercises to enforce simple yet essential skills. Then, the skills are perhaps further extended, or developed to demonstrate the evolution of one skill into another. Then we will apply skills. Exercises and structure is of course adapted to every child's learning technique.
