I'm currently studying towards my A-Levels in the UK, and Mandarin has genuinely become one of my biggest personal interests outside of school — not something I picked up for a qualification and left behind. I enjoy the language itself, the culture that comes with it, and the process of actually getting better at something difficult through consistent practice.
I want to teach because I remember exactly what it felt like to be stuck as a beginner, and I know how much difference a patient, clear explanation makes versus being told to "just memorise it." I'm easygoing and adapt my style to how each student learns best, whether that means more structure or more casual conversation practice.

About the lesson

My approach focuses on practical, conversational Mandarin rather than just memorising word lists: building confidence speaking early, then layering in reading and writing through HSK-style structure.
I hold HSK5 (247/300) and have spent the past two years living in China, which has sharpened both my fluency and my sense of how English speakers actually learn Mandarin efficiently. Having been through that learning process myself, I know exactly where beginners tend to get stuck — tones, character recognition, sentence order — and how to explain it clearly rather than just correcting mistakes.
Lessons typically run 40 minutes and aren't tied to a particular age group — they suit anyone learning Mandarin for a reason that matters to them, whether that's preparing to move to China, travelling, HSK exam prep, or general interest.
