About Hanie

Hi! I’m Hanie, a native Malay speaker from Kuala Lumpur and a TEFL-certified tutor.

I help expats, beginners and international students learn real, everyday Bahasa Malaysia not just textbook phrases you’ll probably never use.

My lessons are fun, friendly and practical, with a focus on real life conversations, useful vocabulary, cultural context and plenty of speaking practice. Whether you’re learning Malay for travel, work, relationships, everyday life or simply because you want to connect better with Malaysians, I’ll guide you step by step at your own pace.

I also offer Malaysian PR Interview Skills & Preparation, helping foreign applicants build confidence, practise realistic interview situations and communicate their answers naturally without sounding like they memorised a script.

All classes are fully online, flexible and personalised to your goals.

Whether you're preparing for a Malaysian PR interview, trying to feel more confident speaking Bahasa Malaysia, or simply wondering why your Malaysian colleague just said “lah” at the end of every sentence… I'm here to help.

My lessons are practical, personalised and relaxed, with enough structure to make sure you're actually learning something but without making you feel like you've gone back to school.

For PR Interview Preparation

Preparing for a PR interview can be stressful, especially when you don't know what to expect.

We'll work on:

Realistic mock interview practice
Common interview topics and questions
Malaysian culture, society and general knowledge
Thinking on your feet when you're asked something unexpected
Confidence, communication and presentation
Developing answers based on your own background and experience
Practice, feedback and improvement

And no, I won't ask you to memorise 50 robotic answers.

The goal is to help you understand how to answer, so you can respond naturally even when the question isn't exactly what you expected.

I'll explain things simply, get you talking, correct you when necessary, and adjust the lesson according to your goals.

Some days you'll learn something new.

Some days you'll realise you've been saying something completely wrong for three months.

Either way, you'll learn.

Class Duration

Most sessions are 1 hour — enough time to learn, practise, ask questions and have a proper conversation.
