My teaching methods are highly detailed and personalized to each student's needs. Whether you are looking to simply have fun and learn a new skill, or you are auditioning for a program I will give you in depth feedback and advice. When it comes to dance course I build upon what you already know, working up from from the basics and getting those fundamentals to be amazing to really knock the socks off of auditioners.
I am a professional actor with a degree in theatre with a focus in musical theatre. I've been doing musicals since I was 5 and I have been working professionally as an actor, singer, and dancer for 2 years. I've been giving privates and small group lessons for the better part of 6 years now and have had some amazing results! I currently teach swing dance weekly via Zoom which has certainly been the most challenging experience in my life, but if I can get this couple to dance when they've never succeeded before, I know that I can build your book to success!
My cancellation policy is that if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice there will be no refund issued. If you want to reschedule your lesson with less than 12 hours notice that will not be possible and there will be no refund issued.
BAC in Theatre with a Concentration in Musical Theatre
I have the most experience teaching acting techniques and swing dance (an example seen below of a group I choreographed from low level dancers to their first competition ever). My courses flow in the direction I see from the student. We take the first lesson as an evaluation of where the student is, what they need, and in what direction they likely want to go. From there over the next month or two of course work I will give some "homework" to keep in the students mind (I know how hard it can be to find time to rehearse and how embarrassing it can be to warm up when your family is around) and we'll follow through with what the student spoke of wanting to improve and what I see lacking in them that they need to succeed in the professional industry. I'll also give them industry tips throughout the courses and am happy to go over headshots, resume, demo reels, and any other industry specific questions they might have problems with.
I am a peer of Fallon's at Bowling Green State University, where we both study Musical Theatre. I highly recommend her as a coach, as she is a loyal friend who is very supportive and is also well-versed in theatre. Not only is she well-versed in the technicalities theatre, but she is very wise in terms of understanding ways of why people are the way they are. Having the ability to understand that really allows you to fully delve into a character with no reservations. Why wouldn't you want a coach that has the ability to do that, and can teach you how, as well?
