About Artur

I started studying Japanese in 2004, at age 16, on my own. Shortly after, I started to study with a multilingual teacher, who became my inspiration to start studying languages in a comparative way, connecting the dots on communication aspects between people living on opposite sides of the world.

The following year I started studying at the State University of Ceará, where I had the opportunity to study with Japanese and Brazilian teachers. In 2007 I was second placed in the VI State Oratory Contest in Japanese Language of Ceará - and in 2008, at the age of 19, I was selected to be a substitute professor of the extension course in Japanese Language at the State University of Ceará. In 2010 I passed the JLPT N3 proficiency test.

At the age of 21 I applied for the Japanese Language Teaching Teachers' Technical Training of Mie Prefecture of Japan and went to Japan, where I received international training and certification after taking courses in writing, conversation, grammar and didatics in Japanese language for foreigners, while attending internship in Japanese schools and learning about life, daily life, customs and the reality of the Japanese language applied by the natives.

Upon returning to Brazil, I dedicated myself to teaching the Japanese language to teenage and adult students for a decade, always seeking to improve the tools and techniques acquired in Japan, during which I had the opportunity to teach students of different levels in different age groups and class configurations. In parallel, I started to provide interpreter services for events, working with the Brazilian Niponic Cultural Foundation in the presentations of international guests. I have worked as an interpreter for bands and artists, such as Nobuo Yamada, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, Back-On, Chihiro Yonekura, Salia, Akira Kushida, Takumi Tsutsui, Tsubasa Imamura and Joe Inoue.

Teaching Japanese language began as an opportunity to collaborate with the learning of new students, and throughout my twelve years of practice, it has become more than a passion. It became my calling, my mission for life.

About the lesson

Japanese language teaching without loopholes or flourishes - study focused on each student's objective (travel, business, leisure, proficiency), in-depth classes and plenty of content at each meeting, stimulating contact with the culture and valuing each student's ability to develop themselves through focus and effort.

Communicative approach and comprehensive input, vocabulary used in context, contact with real-world materials and far beyond textbooks.

Option of classes entirely in Japanese or with grammatical explanation in English with intuitive examples.

Classes from basic (JLPT N5) to intermediate (JLPT N3) levels, for students aged 14 and over.
