About Niko

I have 20 years of teaching experience teaching (both to individual students and also in class) in the subjects of mathematics, English, Dutch, economics and music technology.

In my experience there are no "bad" students.

I have often worked with supposedly "bad" students, and time and time again my experience was that this had nothing to do with the commitment or intelligence of the students, but primarily with whether the student had been taught how to learn in an efficient way and how to prepare for tests.

Once these so-called "bad" students understood how to approach learning, they ranked among the "best" students in their class within a 2-3 month period.

Learning this method of efficient learning doesn't just make learning much less stressful, but also gives a huge boost to your self-confidence.

The skills you acquire during our lessons can be applied in many life areas where you are asked to process and act on new information quickly.

About the lesson

Studying for tests and examinations can be extremely stressful; especially if you feel that you are "bad" in a certain subject.

The good news is that it doesn't have to be that way!

For me there are no "bad" students. Time and again my experience has shown that every student can achieve good to very good results with the right guidance.

"Being bad in a subject" is often the result of gaps in the curriculum, lack of proper explanation of certain subjects, lack of sufficient practice and also not knowing HOW to tackle learning systematically and how to prepare for a test or examination.

Knowing a subject is one thing, but performing on a test or exam is something completely different.

Both aspects are covered extensively in our lessons.

The goals and wishes of the student always come first.

This can be for example: working towards (final) exams, improving grading results for tests, etc.

Once you have mastered the exact steps of how to tackle studying, the studying itself becomes much easier and much more enjoyable.

Our lessons will focus on:

Getting the learning objectives clear
Turning the student's weaknesses into strong points
Learning to study in a planned and efficient way
Fix the "gaps" in the curriculum
The step-by-step plan of how to prepare for exams and tests
Make studying as enjoyable and easy as possible
And of course be successful in achieving your goals

Note:
Math A is for every level of student
Math B is available to all classes of VMBO, HAVO and classes 1,2,3 and 4 of VWO
