My approach begins with strong pieces of writing that have proven themselves over time. We then proceed to pull back the layers of meaning to reveal an enlightening interpretation or understanding of the text.

I really enjoyed Steve as a teacher. He connected with students and made everyone feel equal in the classroom. We were able to learn more about the content, as well as ourselves. He is definitely a teacher that feels like a friend and makes the classroom comfortable.
Steve is a former colleague at Utah Valley University. He's a passionate teacher and creative thinker. He's one of those people who brings disparate things together in imagination. He also cares: what he does is an expression of who he is. Learning and teaching, for him, aren't simply a job requirement but a way of living.

Utah Valley UniversitySteve brings his heart and soul to the classroom, teaches with a passion that inspires students to find their own love for the subject matter. Flourishes of song and dance often find their way into his lectures; at first an observer, the student may find themselves soon joining in. If you are looking for a teacher with heart, Steve's the man.
Out of all the 15 or 20 professors I had while earning my degree, Steve was BY FAR my favorite! He made learning so fun and engaging. His classroom was always a comfortable environment where I felt engaged in the learning process instead of just talked at. He was very passionate about the subject matter and helped to peek our interests in it as well. He was very personable and kind and just an all around great guy. I know my college experience was better having been one of his students.
I have known Steve for many years, both as a fellow student, an instructor, and as a staff member in academic departments. To say he is a passionate and dedicated educator is just the beginning. Steve is widely knowledgeable, engaging, and eager to connect students to material. His approach affords you the opportunity to not only learn new facts, but to synthesize them in new ways. He teaches from a place of respect. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
I worked with Steve as a fellow faculty member (and friend) at Utah Valley University for ten or so years. In my experience, Steve is an extremely engaging instructor that students love. He is not only extremely intelligent, but also presents material that makes students love learning. He uses examples and discusses topics that cause students to relate academic ideas to their daily lives. He is fun and interesting to talk to at all times. Choose him if you want an instructor that is brilliant and the exact opposite of boring.
I’ve known Steve for many years. He is extremely gifted as a teacher. He does hours of research on whatever topic he is teaching. And it is very important to him to make it interesting to his students. But he also wants them to learn what he’s teaching them so that they will remember it later on. So he asks probing questions intended to really make them think about the subject being taught. He has taught English and Humanities for several years at the college level and is highly suited for teaching English to anyone.
Steve has inspired many to want to learn. He loves to hear different viewpoints and is respectful to listen to all sides. He also loves and genuinely cares about all of his students. He takes his relationships with people very seriously and is a very thoughtful person. He has a gift for teaching and is very entertaining and engaging.
I've been to several different schools and colleges in different countries in Europe and also in the United States and in my experience teachers who have more than one of the following attributes, namely, knowledge of their subject, passion for the subject they teach, and the skills to pass on that passion and knowledge to others, are few and far between. Teachers who possess all three of these attributes are extremely rare and Steve Hall is one of a very small group of teachers I have met who possess all three.
I met Steve Hall when I took a Humanities class at Utah Valley University, it was such a positive experience I was happy when I had the opportunity to take a second class taught by Steve.
I learned so much in the classes I took from Steve, even in the class where I thought I already knew it all, he still taught me many new and important things, and not only did he teach very well, but he also made the classes very enjoyable, which in turn made the learning so much easier.
In short, I can't recommend Steve Hall highly enough.Steve is probably one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is knowledgable in the subjects he teaches, and knows how to make class fun, and honestly has become a great friend to me.
I took a Humanity's class from him for a semester but I met him while working in the Library on campus. He was so friendly that he got to know me and my coworkers even though we weren't his students. He made a point to say hello and chat with me whenever he saw me on campus. I was more than happy to take one of his classes.
I would highly recommend Steve to anyone looking for a good, honest, fair teacher. He is very easy to talk to and gets to know you on a personal level and that really helps to help the student with whatever they need and what they may be struggling with, and makes sure to do what you need to help understand.Steve is a proper good bloke; easy to chat with and he cares deeply about his work. What your needs might be he is flexible, you only need speak with this guy to understand.
Steve was one of the best parts of my education. He was my professor for a semester at Utah Valley University. He was an expert on the material and quickly made his class experts on it as well. I often think about the things I learned in his class even though it was years ago. He was kind, patient and motivating. He got to know us as individuals. I always looked forward to his class and it something I enjoyed. He made me excited about what I was learning and got the class involved. We did different things each day, it was never just a boring presentation. He brought energy to the subject and I wish more of my professors were like him.
Steve is a great teacher. He does a lot of research and is very knowledgeable. I really like listening to him, because he knows a lot of interesting things. He always gives me interesting new perspectives on pretty much everything. I like the way he's able to clearly explain really complicated and academic concepts, in a down-to-earth way. He's also really friendly and a really nice person.
Steve is one of the most thoughtful and insightful professors that I've ever had. I had him for a film class and we went in depth on screen plays and some of the language used to get tropes themes across to the audience. I could tell by his enthusiasm and knowledge that he was an experienced writer. I would be happy to take another course from Steve.
Steve is an amazing teacher. He gets his point across in such a creative maner that it's impossible to forget. He also helps students understand and he's a great listener. If you're in need of understanding he will find a way to help you get the subject you're struggling with.
Steve is my dad. I learned a lot growing up thanks to his ability as a teacher. Fairly often he would teach me analysis while we watched movies, and through this by the time I was 16, I was already better at analysis and writing than most of his college students were at the beginning of the semester. I've spent a lot of time meeting his past students who loved him as a teacher, and I've seen how they've grown over the time he's taught them. He is highly adaptive in his teaching, and can teach students in the ways best suited to his needs.
I've spent a lot of time with Steve and he always has wonderful insight to lessons. He's patient but is also excited about what he's teaching.
