About Игорь

Hi everyone! I am Igor, a sertified teacher with TEFL living in Saint-Petersburg and working at Skyeng, one of the largest online English schools in Europe. I've been teaching English for more than four years and over the years it has really become my passion to which I've dedicated myself. Helping people is what I love, as well as meeting and talking with different kind of people. I'm convinced, this is one of the main reasons why I chose to be a teacher.

My other passions are traveling, movies and sport. So if you share these interests it will be pleasure for me to discuss them with you:)

About the lesson

Years of experience teaching students of different ages and backgrounds made it possible for me to choose effective learning strategies and apply them to each of my lessons. Imagine, you want to have no trouble finding friends from all around the world, or you would like to watch American movies and tv-shows in original, enjoying the beauty of authentic voices and full actor playing. Maybe, you are a businessman who wants to enter the international market. Lots of people have a dream to move abroad. Are you one of them? The thing is, throughout my teaching carreer I have had students with all these goals and I helped each one to achieve them. No matter, what your goal of learning English is, together with me you will achieve it.

I teach students of all ages and levels and always take into account their needs and preferences, which means my lessons are as personalized as possible. Want to speak on your favourite topics or maybe understand songs you love? Not a problem.

As well as the individual approach, the communicative approach is what I use. My lessons are aimed at making you speak the real language and we will be doing this from the very beginning. Afraid to make mistakes? You shouldn’t be. Having given more than 4000 classes I know problems students face very well, including the language barrier and fear to make mistakes, and you can be sure together we will beat them. Even if you are an absolute beginner, in no time you will be able to make sentences and this way start communicating in English.

Maybe you are afraid that learning English is something too hard and boring? You shouldn’t be either! In my lessons we will use all advantages of modern technologies, such as doing classes on an interactive learning platform ProgressMe, using a wide variety of materials of all sorts, including videos on Youtube, songs, articles on popular websites, etc.

I conduct one-to-one lessons in English. However, if you know Russian we can use it, just keep in mind we will do it only when really needed. The length of a lesson can be 25 or 50 minutes. If you have questions of any kind, feel free to send me a message! I would love to hear from you!
