About Wilfred
Tennis has always been my first love. I have decades of competitive playing and coaching experience, having started at an early age and progressed through the Ontario Tennis Association (OTA) junior ranks from U12 to U18. I have also competed in various club and inter-county tournaments at the A and Major levels, as well as several ITF Seniors Doubles tournaments.
Over the years, I have enjoyed coaching a wide range of students, from children as young as six years old to adults and seniors. I currently coach in a variety of settings, including private lessons, group clinics, and community tennis programs, allowing me to work with players of all ages and abilities. I am committed to continuous learning and regularly incorporate new ideas and feedback from both my students and fellow coaches. I am also a strong believer in video analysis, which I consider an invaluable tool for player development and improvement.
My coaching philosophy is centered on helping every player improve their skills, build confidence, and develop a lifelong enjoyment of the game. Whether a student is picking up a racquet for the first time or looking to refine their competitive skills, I strive to create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment that allows each player to reach their full potential.

I am passionate about teaching the fundamentals of tennis biomechanics and strategy. I believe in movement, proper form and balance first and foremost, and the use of both left and right arms in delivering the proper tennis strokes. This leads into progressive tennis with appropriate level drills to walk before we run. I'm also a huge believer that every student learns differently and am adept in discovering their optimal path to
success.
