About Yolanda
Solid technique is the foundation that allows you to play the music you actually like. Do you ever feel like your fingers are just not moving the way they should during a rhythm section? We use a diagnostic skills check to build a custom plan that addresses your specific needs. My degree from Concordia informs how I teach rhythm guitar and electric technique to keep things efficient.
We can look at your acoustic technique or dive into improvisation and soloing. After 12 years of teaching, I know how to keep things playful and clear. Strumming patterns become second nature when we break them down properly.
Your growth is the only metric that matters to me. I am happy to help you find your groove.

Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Music means I have spent years deconstructing how melody works. I was playing guitar long before I had the paper to prove it, and now I use that for my students.
I have taught 395 students ranging from nervous teens to serious intermediate hobbyists. My first-gen background informs how I dismantle technical barriers for my learners. Sometimes the hardest part is just identifying what you do not know yet.
I love to find the gaps in knowledge that keep people stuck on a plateau. It turns out that a little bit of focus goes a long way. Maybe we can find your path together.
