About Maya
I have spent nine years helping more than 340 students understand physics for environmental challenges. My background includes a master's in geophysics and climate modeling research. I have worked in environmental consultancy, academic research, and education. My students have pursued environmental science, renewable energy, and climate policy careers. I am skilled at connecting physics to environmental issues. I design lessons around current events and real data. Outside of teaching, I volunteer with climate initiatives and enjoy outdoor activities. I believe physics education should empower students to build a sustainable future.

My physics teaching is thoughtful and environmentally conscious. For geophysics I teach seismic waves plate tectonics and Earths magnetic field. Climate science is taught through radiation atmospheric dynamics and ocean circulation. Renewable energy is explored through solar cells wind turbines and storage technologies. I emphasize physics role in addressing global challenges. My lessons use real data scientific papers and policy documents. I teach mathematical physics with emphasis on estimation and model interpretation. For exam preparation I provide comprehensive coverage with attention to unfamiliar contexts. I also guide independent research on environmental physics.
