About Arthur

I think I would be an excellent fit for an ESL teacher for my cultural background, my language capability, and my experience with language education. I grew up in Shanghai, China and moved to Canada when I was 11 years old. I am fluent in both languages; I communicate in Chinese at home and English at school. I am the top English student in my grade with an average of 99. I also participate in national level debating where I won multiple provincial championships and had achieved national finalist debater at McGill University. Moreover, I've had a lot of experience working with ESL students. Due to my English capability, I took the role of educating new Chinese students when they first enter my school. In fact, we have the pleasure of hosting some of them and I constantly provide assistance for their school work. During last summer, I was preparing a university student for his IELTS exam in China. I think I would be a great teacher because I am able to connect with the students based on a shared cultural background, and I am experienced in the language education field. I am also qualified for the job due to my English capability exemplified by my English mark and debating experience. However, I am currently enrolled in High School in Canada, and I am only 16 years old. With regards to the provincial law, children under the age of 16 and above 14 is able to work in language education. ( (concealed information) If you have any question, please contact me. About the lesson

I firmly believe that English is made up of 4 components. Reading, writing, speaking and listening. With my lessons, it will tackle each individual components with extreme detail and analysis. My goal is for the students to be able to immerse themselves in an English environment so they can create more social relationships. It is extremely important for a teacher to build up a student's confidence in language and then release them into an educating environment.
