About Lauren
Hi, I’m Lauren. I’m an Art Education student at Tyler School of Art and Architecture, where I study both how to make art and how to teach it in ways that actually reach people. I’ve worked with students through classroom placements, teaching practice, and years of childcare, so I’m comfortable supporting all ages (0-100), personalities, and learning styles.
I’m also the Editor-in-Chief of Lunar Journal, an identity-based literary and arts magazine, which means I spend a lot of time thinking about visual culture, storytelling, and how to support creative voices. I care deeply about making art feel accessible and meaningful, not intimidating or exclusive.
I’m patient, observant, and good at meeting people where they are. I take my work seriously, but I also believe learning should feel engaging and human. If you’re looking for someone who can guide you while still leaving room for your individuality, you’re in the right place.

Art is not a single door, it is a hallway with a hundred entrances, so we find the one that actually opens for you. You can draw, build, talk, write, collage, whatever helps you connect!
I bring in artists who are usually left out of the conversation, so you are not just copying what has already been decided is important. We look at things that feel alive, strange, personal, and worth paying attention to.
I have experience working with different ages and learning styles, so I keep things clear but never rigid. You will learn skills, yes, but also how to trust your instincts and make work that feels like yours.
