About Rangiatea

I am now a stay-at-home māmā of 2 young tamariki under the age of 3 and we are a Māori speaking household. I used to take my eldest with me to kura (school) every single day, Mon-Fri 8am-4pm and teach a class full of 5 year olds - FOR A YEAR. So you can say, my patience is at an all time high and I have learnt to be flexible, relaxed and approach things differently to keep people engaged.

I have been in education all my life, helping my mother with her school work from planning to implementing and on occasion, assessing students academic progress.

I’m always open to learning myself, I believe that I am only a guide and my students are in control of how they choose to learn.

My role as the teacher is to listen, apply necessary knowledge and skills to make learning fun and educational.

About the lesson

I offer fortnightly online tutoring sessions, available exclusively on Mondays. With over 9 years of experience in both mainstream and full immersion education, I tailor each lesson to meet the individual needs of my students. My approach incorporates Play-based and Montessori methods, designed to engage learners and support both social and academic development.

Each 45-minute lesson is structured to ensure effective learning while keeping students motivated. I work with learners as young as 5 years old, as well as tertiary students seeking to enhance their proficiency in Te Reo Māori.

My goal is to make learning Te Reo Māori accessible, practical, and enjoyable, while providing a flexible, supportive environment.

My pricing reflects the specialised nature of my lessons in both Te Reo Māori and immersive education techniques. The rate includes all teaching materials, such as tailored worksheets, access to online resources, and any additional tools used to enhance the learning experience. As my sessions are held online, there are no additional fees for classroom bookings, ensuring flexibility and convenience for my students.
