About Alejandra
¡Hola! I'm Alejandra, a native Spanish speaker from Colombia and first-year Business student at the University of Calgary. I grew up in a trilingual environment, fluent in Spanish, English, and basic Mandarin, which gives me a unique understanding of what it takes to learn a new language and how to make that journey enjoyable and effective for young learners. I am patient, creative, and naturally adapt my teaching style to each child's personality, pace, and learning needs, whether that means songs, games, storytelling, or conversation practice.
I speak Colombian Spanish, which is widely considered one of the clearest and most neutral accents in the Spanish-speaking world — a great foundation for any young learner! I offer lessons both in person in Calgary and online, making it easy and flexible for families to fit Spanish into their schedule. My goal is simple, to make your child feel confident, excited, and genuinely love learning Spanish.

My approach to teaching Spanish is built around one core belief, language learning should be fun, natural, and tailored to the individual learner. As a native Spanish speaker from Colombia and a trilingual communicator myself, I understand firsthand that every student learns differently, so I always adapt my style to what works best for each child, combining structured vocabulary and grammar foundations with interactive activities like games, songs, storytelling, and conversational practice. Through my volunteer work at the Villa de Leyva Kindergarten Program in Colombia, I developed strong skills in engaging young learners with patience, creativity, and warmth, and I bring that same energy to every lesson. I speak Colombian Spanish, widely regarded as one of the clearest and most neutral accents in the Spanish-speaking world — a great foundation for any beginner. My lessons are designed for children of all ages and all levels, and I am available both in person in Calgary and online
