About Richard
Throughout a technical career in biotechnology, food and healthcare, my skill has been in using science to solve problems, and then to communicate results to general managers. Believe me, Managing Directors are harder to explain to than students.
Now retired, I've delivered over 900 tutorials. When I'm not teaching Physics and Maths, I'm probably looking up research on gravitational waves or computer algorithms for weather forecasting. Science should be fun. A student who doesn't look forward to lessons isn't being well taught.

After 8 years and more than 600 lessons, I know how to get the best out of students of A-level Physics and Maths. My enthusiasm inspires them.
Though I can offer on-line lessons with a white-board, I prefer face-to-face, picking up subtle clues about whether a student really "gets" it.
Lessons are typically one hour, and can be in the student's home or a dedicated study at my place. I insist on meeting parents at an initial meeting.
