About Daniel
I have been doing tutoring since a year and a half, that is not counting some spanish tutoring. When a student, I used to be extremely demanding on myself in science and mathematics, and pursued with natural sciences in colledge. I am equiped for the task of giving high school tutoring in these matters. I don't fear change in the programs, for I approach curriculum variations with a good mathematical logic, and prefer to put emphasis on the process of the learning, and what benefit can be taken out of it, than merely on what exactly has to be learned. I then tend to suggest my student study habbits; the course content is not an absolute good in my view; grades don't define the student's real potential. I believe grades usually follow good study behavior; yet not always.

If looking for help in high school math, chemistry or physics, grades 3 to 5. Math and sciences have been topics in which I succeeded most in high school, because of a general intelectual curiosity. Regreting the abscence of classical language courses in high schools, I am a militant in favor of their return. I believe linguisitic and mathematic skills can benefit each other in the long run when but in complementarity. Since I cannot use this approach in my tutoring, I keep for myself the benefit of my self studies in Latin and Greek, and how they influence my own mathematical thinking. As for my approach of teaching mathematics, I focus a lot on making them understood, when possible, from an intelectual viewpoint, rather than merely applying formulas, which approach I believe is a reaction to the reformation of math education, which is now more about logical thinkigng, than formerly, about mere calculation skills. For not losing the late, I make a moderate use of calculators: they might be fine for doing square roots with a result of two digits beyond the coma, however, when I see student about to use it for 9 plus 6, I make a little smile. My methods are all about balance
