About Kayla

Hi! I'm a student at the University of British Columbia (UBC) with a strong interest in science and mathematics, and physics has always been one of my favorite subjects!

I've always enjoyed how physics allows us to understand the world around us through logical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving. I especially enjoy the satisfaction of working through a challenging question and finally understanding how everything fits together!

I understand that physics can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when you're trying to figure out which formulas to use or how to approach a problem. That's why I believe in **breaking down difficult concepts into smaller, manageable steps** and focusing on the reasoning behind each solution rather than simply memorizing equations.

I'm patient, approachable, and always happy to explain concepts in different ways until they make sense. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace.

My goal is to **share my enthusiasm for physics while helping students build confidence, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and develop a genuine understanding of the subject!**

My physics lessons focus on helping students **understand how to solve problems step by step, rather than simply memorizing formulas and answers!**

During each session, we'll work through practice questions together, breaking down each problem into smaller, manageable steps. I'll explain the physics concepts involved, how to identify the relevant information, which formulas to use, and the reasoning behind each step.

As we work through questions, we'll also **create clear, organized notes together**, highlighting important concepts, formulas, problem-solving strategies, and common mistakes. Students can keep these notes as personalized study guides to review independently or use when preparing for upcoming tests and exams.

Each lesson will be tailored to the student's individual needs and learning pace. Whether they need help with homework, understanding difficult concepts, or preparing for an exam, I'll focus on strengthening their understanding and building their confidence.

I encourage students to ask questions freely and actively participate in solving problems, gradually helping them develop the skills to tackle similar questions independently.

My goal is to make physics **less intimidating, easier to understand, and more enjoyable**, while creating a patient and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning at their own pace!
