About the lesson

Hi! I’m Isabel Vance, an experienced UCAT tutor with many years of tutoring experience, a UCAT in the 98th percentile (3280 based on old scoring), and currently studying Medicine at UNSW. Over the years, I have helped many students successfully gain entry into medicine and dentistry, guiding them through both the UCAT and interview selection process.

I offer specialised UCAT tutoring, with a strong focus on strategy, timing, and exam performance. I know firsthand how challenging and competitive the UCAT is, and I teach students how to approach each section efficiently and confidently under pressure.

My tutoring is highly structured and personalised. I break down each UCAT section into clear strategies, teach repeatable techniques, and provide targeted practice to maximise improvement. I place a strong emphasis not just on practice questions, but on training the underlying skills the UCAT tests because the UCAT is a skills-based exam, not a content-based one. I also understand that the UCAT can often leave students feeling stuck, confused, or like they’re not improving despite lots of practice. That’s why I focus on reflection and adaptation helping you understand what’s going wrong, how to change your approach, and how to adjust your strategy as challenges come up, so you keep improving instead of plateauing.
