About Van
I am a Biomedical Sciences student at UCL. I did A-levels at Abbey College in Cambridge and achieved A grades in Maths and Chemistry.
- I had experience teaching primary school students Maths, Literature and English.
- I was a student mentor to A-levels first-year students taking Biology and Chemistry at college. My jobs included revising and examining the students' understanding, working on subject areas where they had difficulty, giving out and marking homework, etc.
- Besides, I have been teaching English to international students for 6 months.
These are great opportunities for me to earn more teaching experience. I learnt how to be patient when explaining, how to present my lessons clearly and effectively and how to identify the students' strengths and weaknesses.

For each topic, I address the problems encountered by my tutees first and work on them. I also relate the topics with each other so that tutees will have general ideas. I aim to help tutees understand the origin of models and relationships so that it is easier for them to remember the formulas and apply them more actively and confidently even to other topics.
