About Nancy
I want to become a tutor because I’ve personally experienced how valuable good teaching can be. I had a maths tutor who made a real difference to my understanding and confidence, and that’s something I’d love to provide for other students.
I really enjoy helping others learn, especially when they go from feeling stuck to finally understanding something. I’m naturally kind, patient, and approachable, which I think helps create a comfortable environment where students feel able to ask questions without pressure.

I’d describe my tutoring style as structured, supportive, and tailored to each student. I like to break down concepts step by step, starting from the basics to make sure there are no gaps in understanding, and then gradually building up to more complex ideas.
I focus on explaining things in a clear, simple way, often using examples or real-life comparisons to make topics easier to grasp. I also encourage students to talk through their thinking, so I can understand how they approach problems and help correct any misunderstandings.
I aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions, and I adapt my approach depending on how they learn best—whether that’s more practice questions, visual explanations, or discussion.
