About Charlie
I currently study economics at the University of Exeter after having achieved an A* in French A-Level and Grade 9 (100%) in GCSE French. My ambition with tutoring is to inspire curiosity and confidence, as well as a love for learning French. When learning French is fun, getting the Grade 9 is the easy part.

The best way to learn French is to practise it, and the best way to practise is by doing past papers. But it can often be difficult for students to attempt their past papers independently, no thanks to the unnecessarily complicated mark schemes that the exam boards release. This is where I come in. I waste no time and start working through past papers of an appropriate level of difficulty for the student. This gives the student the chance to demonstrate what they know, but crucially, to find the areas where they are struggling. This allows me to tailor each lesson to the individual so that they can effectively fill any gaps in their knowledge, and develop an effective way to revise like a Grade 9 student. Speaking in French is strongly encouraged where the student feels confident, but lessons will be spoken in English.
