About Contreras,
Hello! I am a native Tagalog speaker and an undergraduate BS Psychology student at PLSP. I am passionate about teaching and helping students develop confidence in using the Filipino language. With my background in Psychology, I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching methods to match each learner's pace, needs, and learning style.
I strive to create a positive, patient, and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing themselves. As a BS Psychology undergraduate and a native Tagalog speaker, I believe that learning becomes more effective when students feel comfortable, encouraged, and actively involved. My teaching approach is student-centered, using interactive discussions, storytelling, real-life examples, games, and simple exercises to make Tagalog enjoyable and easy to understand. A typical lesson includes a short review, introduction of new vocabulary or grammar, guided practice, and engaging activities to strengthen learning. What sets me apart is my patience, understanding, and psychological background, which helps me adapt to each learner's needs and learning style. My lessons are ideal for children, beginners, elementary and high school students, and anyone who wants to improve their Tagalog communication skills.
