My approach as a tutor centers on demystifying complex reading, writing, and textual analysis for elementary and high school students. As a second-year Honours Political Science undergraduate certified in ethics research, I draw on my daily experience handling intricate academic texts to teach students how to read critically, construct well-reasoned arguments, and write with clarity.

Teaching Methodology and Techniques
I use the "I Do, We Do, You Do" scaffolding model: I model a skill first, practice it collaboratively with the student, and then supervise as they complete it independently. For writing, I guide younger students through paragraph structure using graphic organizers, while helping high schoolers master thesis statements, essay formatting, and the PEEL method (Point, Evidence, Explanation, Link). For reading, I assist beginners with decoding and comprehension, while teaching advanced students how to annotate passages, spot literary devices, and analyze an author’s context.

Typical Lesson Plan
Every lesson plan is customized to the student's immediate goals, whether that means assisting with daily homework, breaking down in-class readings, or working on long-term essays. A typical 60-minute session includes:

Warm-Up (5–10 mins): Reviewing previous feedback or a quick vocabulary check.

Guided Collaboration (20–25 mins): Working together on current homework, an essay outline, or an assigned reading passage.

Independent Application (15–20 mins): The student practices writing or analysis independently with my real-time feedback.

Wrap-Up (5 mins): Summarizing key takeaways and setting next steps.

What Sets Me Apart
My background in Political Science and certified ethics research sets me apart. I do not just help students fix grammar or memorize plot points; I teach them critical thinking, source evaluation, and argument structure, translating advanced academic techniques into accessible, age-appropriate strategies.

Who the Lessons Are For
I tutor elementary and high school students (Grades 1 through 12) at all learning levels. Whether a student needs foundational reading support, help staying on top of daily schoolwork, or guidance on advanced high school essays, I adapt every session to their specific needs.
