About Mahalo'Vwane (Murielle)

Imagine you're a teacher working in a specialized unit for autistic students. One of your pupils—who’s been acting out a lot lately—has developed a habit: each morning, he walks in, opens the body awareness mat, and lies flat on his belly. Then, he flips onto his back and guides your hand to rest on his stomach. He also shows you skin rashes in the same area. How would you interpret that behavior? It happened in my class and that moment stayed with me. Something didn’t feel right. Although I reported the rashes, I almost overlooked what his body was trying to communicate—because I lacked the deeper knowledge to connect the dots. That situation, along with others, pushed me to dive into the scientific literature in search of answers. It marked the beginning of a shift in how I understand autism—no longer as a set of fixed behaviors, but as a complex landscape with many hidden layers. Greetings! Born in Guadeloupe, I am a Specialized Teacher-Researcher in Autism with over 10 years of international experience across the UK, France, Canada, and Guadeloupe I am as well an Educational Consultant in the same field. While and after earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master’s in Educational Studies, I developed a solid foundation in special education, working primarily with autistic children and children with behavioral challenges. My approach blends scientific research, experience, active listening, and deep observations. Out of hands-on experience and research, I created the course “Autism: An Iceberg”—designed to help parents and professionals move beyond surface-level assumptions and gain a more accurate, transformative understanding of autism. A deeper understanding means better questions, clearer answers, and more effective support for the children in your care. This course is both scientifically grounded and practically applicable, making it both accessible and impactful. Feedback from participants includes: - “A course Filled with scientific resources.” - “I didn’t expect to explore this aspect of autism.” - “Very well-structured course, backed by a lot of research—very interesting.” - “A very enriching course — I’ve come out of it with greater insight.” -“Everyone should have access to this information.” Are you ready to transform your perspective on autism—for the benefit of your child or students? Join the course and let seeing autism differently become your new reality.

What if everything you knew about autism was just the tip of the iceberg? But how would you know—if you’ve never seen what lies beneath?

What if your instincts tell you there’s more to a child’s behaviour than just autism? That something isn’t quite adding up… That there are missing pieces to the puzzle?

So what do you do? Keep wondering—or take action?

If you're ready to take action, my course “Autism: An Iceberg” is here to help you find answers—and restore your hope.

Whether you’re a proactive parent or a professional sensing something is missing, or you're asking yourself:
- Is there more to this child’s distress?
- Is there more behind their aggression, withdrawal, or
anxiety?
- Is this truly autism—or could something else be at play?...
or perhaps you're new to the field and want a solid foundation? “Autism: An Iceberg” will deepen your understanding and transform how you see autism, for the benefit of the children you support.

I tailor lesson plans to match your background, needs, and professional context.

My teaching focuses on:
- Exploring autism through the metaphor of the iceberg.
We begin by revisiting—or discovering—the tip of the iceberg:
the widely circulated knowledge about autism that has
shaped how so many people perceive it.

- Diving deeper into the hidden layers.
We’ll take time to explore the lesser-known, often
overlooked aspects of autism. Using scientific research,
lived experiences, visuals, videos, and written materials, we
uncover insights that are, in my view, still too rarely shared.

- Helping you develop a more accurate, nuanced perspective
of autism, so you can ask better questions and provide more
effective support.

- Encouraging you to revisit current practices—or adopt more
effective ones based on what you’ll learn.

- Providing a solid foundation for further research.

The course ‘Autism: an Iceberg’ is available as:
A 2-hour overview (can be split over 2 days) – ideal for a clear introduction.
A full-day course, divided into 1-hour modules – for a deeper dive into autism’s hidden layers and rare, research-based insights essential for a fuller understanding of ASD.

Important:
A personalized lesson or program proposal will be sent for confirmation. Please accept it at least 3 days before the scheduled session.
If a student is over 10 minutes late without communication, the lesson will be forfeited and will need to be rescheduled.
