My teaching methodology is based on flexibility and input from students. I like to set clear goals when approaching a task, but I keep in mind that plans can always change as new ideas and challenges arise. I make use of visual aids a lot in my teaching; after all, a picture is worth 1000 words.
My whole life has been defined by music: I started learning the piano at age 3, and singing since around then as well. I have my grade 2 theory and a lot of experience taking RCM exams. I have a lot of cultural knowledge of music as well, which I feel is just as important as technique. I am a graduate of the University of Toronto, where I minored in music and culture to complement my studies. Recently I've been focused on music composition and production, and have been writing and releasing my own songs.

Tara's firm foundation in theory, diverse range of musical experiences, and sensitive listening to her students combine to make her an excellent teacher. If you want to learn and to love making music while you do, Tara is a fantastic tutor.
Tara is not just whip-smart, but extremely creative. She is able to figure out where each person's roadblocks lie and tailor her teaching style accordingly. Tara will leave her mark on you not only as a student but as a person. You'll also have fun interacting with her. I recommend her highly.
