About Michael

My name is Michael Bones,
I live in Mississauga Canada
I teach violin privately in person in Streetsville as well as online.
I studied music at university majoring in composition
I now write, record, mix and produce my own unique style of violin music which uses live looping and guitar pedal effects to create a vivid and full sound. I also perform regularly with local community symphonies and some charitable events. You can find my music on spotify or better on Youtube just by searching my name :)

About the lesson

Well versed in many teaching methods I teach a combination of what I practice personally to stay in shape and teach with many of the Suzuki methods and principles for beginner violinists to learn to be able to hear and play both by ear as well as reading music. As a performance artist and gigging musician I have both the education and the real world knowledge to be able to help you progress quickly and with good sound in a variety of styles from classical to rock, hip-hop, cultural styles, fiddle I have played them all. As a composition major I have written for string quartet, full orchestra, and many other arrangements and can also help anyone who is interested in music theory and how to make your own music or more deeply understand and appreciate the music you play.
Think of me as an expert coach as with violin it will be up to your individual practice to make the effort (at least 20 min daily), with recommended weekly 30 min-1hour lessons (based on practice commitment) we would work on warm up activities where we work on posture and overall sound quality improvements and then review last week songs practiced and learning new songs when ready.
