About Gage
I’m a university student who previously studied astrophysics and is now transferring into geophysics. Through my university studies, I’ve completed Calculus I, II and III, Differential Equations, as well as university-level physics and astrophysics courses, giving me a strong background in the math and physics subjects I tutor.
Outside of academics, sports have been a major part of my life. I’ve been involved in university football, currently train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and have experience coaching youth sports. Coaching has given me experience working with younger athletes, communicating ideas clearly, and finding different ways to explain something when the first approach doesn’t click.
I enjoy math and physics and want to use my academic and coaching experience to help students become more confident with subjects they may be struggling with.

My lessons focus on helping students actually understand math and physics rather than simply memorizing formulas and steps. One of the biggest things I’ve learned through coaching youth sports is that not everyone learns the same way. If a student doesn’t understand something the first way I explain it, repeating the exact same explanation usually isn’t going to help. Instead, I’ll approach the problem from a different angle, use a different example, or break it down into smaller steps until we find a way that makes sense to them.
Sessions can focus on difficult concepts, homework and assignments, test or exam preparation, or getting caught up on material. My goal is for students to leave understanding why something works and feeling more confident solving similar problems on their own.
