About Xavier
I am a recent graduate of Concordia University where I received a BFA in Specialization in Film Studies. I am currently awaiting acceptance into the Masters program for Film and Moving Image Studies at the same institution. One of my goals is to become a professor of film and media at the college level and teach scriptwriting courses. Although my post-secondary education is mainly related to the study of cinema, my courses have often required me to read extensive texts and write numerous essays. As a result of this, I have been able to improve my own reading and writing skills, as well as developing my patience skills. In order to prepare myself for a future teaching position, I’ve decided to take on the task of being an English tutor. I hope to relay to students my experiences with taking on seemingly daunting tasks, and how I’ve managed to accomplish them through task management and alternative techniques.

Looking to assist francophone students at the primary/secondary level in order to improve their English language reading and writing skills. I am prepared to sit down with them and go over their homework, guiding them towards the answer as opposed to giving it to them directly. Currently, my schedule is very flexible and I am prepared to arrange our meetings based on a time that is most convenient for the student. I am patient and willing to try different teaching techniques in order to facilitate the student’s learning experience. Finally, I believe in maintaining full transparency with parents, informing them of their child’s progression as well as any additional studying that may be needed.
