About Morgan

As an Honours Specialization university student with an established tutoring background, I bring a track record of academic excellence to every lesson. My own academic journey has been defined by high standards—including earning a 97% in Grade 12 University-level English—allowing me to model the exact habits and structural techniques students need to master the Ontario curriculum.

Currently pursuing a specialized degree in the Sciences, I combine the analytical precision of a scientist with a deep passion for the humanities. I am an active reader of both fiction and non-fiction, a classically trained piano player, and a skilled writer focused on bridging the gap between creative thought and academic rigour.

I am an avid, lifelong learner who believes that discovery happens at every opportunity. Beyond my studies, I am DELF B2 certified, providing the French fluency necessary to support students in bilingual or immersion programs who are navigating the transition to high-level English composition.

My background is community-focused; as a volunteer instructor with London Track 3, I teach inclusive alpine skiing. This experience has been vital in teaching me how to meet students exactly where they are, adapting complex literary analysis and essay structures into simple, manageable steps for any skill level.

I believe the best learning happens through connection. Whether I am scuba diving or studying genetics, I bring that "zest" for discovery to every session. My goal is to help students find their voice, transforming complex concepts into something approachable, engaging, and intellectually satisfying.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is centred on structural clarity and student autonomy. I help students move beyond simple summary, building a robust framework for how to organize their thoughts and present their ideas clearly on the page.

Whether we are mastering the basics of Grade 9 composition or navigating the requirements of Grade 12 University-stream English, I focus on bridging the gap between creative thought and the technical structure of the Ontario curriculum.

My Approach to Academic Success:

The Writing Lifecycle: I guide students through the entire process of an assignment—from brainstorming and thesis development to high-level editing and formatting. My goal is to provide a toolkit that helps students organize their information even when faced with unideal or confusing assignment prompts in the classroom.

Grammar & Mechanics: I provide targeted support for grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. I teach these as the essential "mechanics of clarity," ensuring that the student's ideas are never lost behind technical errors.

Critical Analysis: I provide support for analyzing poetry, short stories, and novels across all high school grade levels. I teach students how to move beyond "what happened" to "why it matters," helping them develop the analytical habits required for senior-level English.

Bilingual & ESL Support: I offer specialized support for students navigating the transition between French and English, including those in French Immersion or Francophone programs. Utilizing my DELF B2 French fluency, I can help ease the initial transition between languages and build confidence in English composition.

Pour les francophones, je parle le français à un niveau intermédiaire (B2), alors je peux vous aider avec la transition initiale entre l’anglais et le français.

International & Conversational Fluency: I also offer support for international students and English learners looking to build confidence in verbal communication. I enjoy helping students navigate the nuances of the English language to ensure their ideas are communicated clearly and naturally in both academic and social settings.

My role is to provide the clarity and the tools; I empower my students to take ownership of their own writing journey and apply these insights to reach their personal goals.
