About Thành
My coaching philosophy is rooted in adapting to the needs of the team, the level of competition, and the timeline of the season. Through my experience with the Hanoi Buffaloes and York University, I have worked in environments with different expectations, resources, and playing styles, which taught me the importance of flexibility as a coach. I believe each phase of the season requires a different focus—from player development and system implementation in the preseason, to tactical adjustments and performance management during the competitive season. Rather than forcing a single style of play, I strive to build systems that maximize the strengths of the roster while preparing players to compete at the highest level possible. My goal is to create an environment that promotes growth, accountability, and continuous improvement regardless of the level of competition.

My coaching philosophy is built around understanding the timeline of a season and adapting accordingly. I believe every stage of the year—from preseason development, to early-season identity building, to mid-season adjustments, and finally playoff preparation—requires a different approach. Rather than applying a single system in every situation, I focus on maximizing the strengths of the players and team available. Having worked with athletes of varying ages, skill levels, and competitive environments, I am comfortable adjusting my coaching style, practice structure, and tactical approach to fit different levels of play while maintaining clear standards, accountability, and player development throughout the season.
