About Helena

I am passionate about geography and the world around us and have a particular love for wildlife conservation, in particular biodiversity restoration and rewilding.

My interest in differences in environments, biodiversity and cultures drives my passion for the subject and I love travelling to experience these.

About the lesson

I teach remotely for one hour sessions and focus on providing feedback on student's work and context to lessons and topics.

In sessions focused on providing feedback, I will typically ask students to send me copies of their written work in advance of the session. I will then talk through the feedback I have provided and work with the individual to develop their writing skills in preparation for assessments and exams.

I also work with students to provide context to the topics they are studying and provide real world examples for students to use in their work.

I have significant experience within the geographical sector, having worked for the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). I understand the A level curriculum for geography and have created lesson plans for the AQA syllabus.

My experience as a science writer means I am able to advise on how to synthesise highly complex information and write well, and my significant experience as a professional in the wildlife conservation sector allows me to use real world examples of contemporary projects to enhance students' work.

I am an experience educator, having worked with students of all ages and I enjoy working one on one with individuals to maximise their potential.
