About Aidan
I am a second year Computer Science student at the University of Southampton. I achieved three A*s in Maths, Further Maths and Physics at A-Level, alongside all 9s in my GCSEs.
I have always enjoyed maths and found it came naturally to me, but more importantly I enjoy helping others reach that same understanding. There is a real satisfaction in seeing a student go from struggling with a topic to genuinely getting it, and that is what keeps me motivated as a tutor.
Outside of tutoring I work on technical projects such as deepfake detection research, and enjoy keeping active through running.

I teach GCSE and A-Level Maths to students of all abilities, with extensive tutoring experience. Sessions are typically one hour and are fully tailored to each student.
My approach focuses on prompting students with questions rather than giving answers directly. This builds genuine understanding rather than memorisation, which means students retain what they learn and grow in confidence over time.
Schools often teach students to memorise methods without understanding why they work, which overloads memory and leads to knowledge fading quickly. I focus on making sure students truly understand what they are doing, freeing up their memory and making maths feel much more manageable.
Exam technique is a core part of every session. I am very familiar with mark schemes and what examiners are looking for, and I help students maximise marks on every question.
