About Jake
I was raised in a home that took in foster children from the time I was around 12. Throughout my teen years, I was able to witness children with a troubled past connect with learning in ways that was unique to each of them. Because of these experiences, I am not a fan of forcing a ‘one size fits all’ method of education onto students. I love helping students discover a method of learning that not only works for them, but also makes them fall in love with knowledge.

When I was in high school, English was seen as a chore, a stuffy subject that had no practical use. As I explored my love for literature in my personal life, it troubled me that English as a subject was not taught appropriately; I believe that every individual has a characteristic or unique life experience that can help them connect with literature in some form.
