About Abby

I’m currently in my third year of university, pursuing a career in education. I tutored students in Math for several years, and I’m excited to return to tutoring to continue supporting students in their academic journeys.

I’m also working towards a minor in English and have a particular interest in reading and supporting Multilingual Language Learners. Along with my passion for English, I have a deep love for Math. Through a course I took called “Remodeling Relationships with Math,” I gained valuable insights into diverse teaching methods that ensure all students can grasp mathematical concepts in a way that works for them.

About the lesson

As a future educator, my goal is to create an engaging and supportive learning experience for each student. I will focus on fostering a strong understanding of both English and Math, ensuring that students not only grasp key concepts but also develop confidence in their abilities.

I firmly believe that every student learns differently, and there is always a way to help them succeed academically. I will tailor my lessons to each student’s specific needs. Connecting lessons to their personal interests is essential in supporting their understanding and keeping them motivated.

I adapt my teaching style based on the individual needs and learning preferences of each student. Whether it’s breaking down complex concepts more slowly, providing additional practice, or incorporating creative strategies to keep them engaged, I am committed to meeting students where they are and guiding them toward success.

My tutoring services are ideal for grade 1-9 students who need support in English (grammar, writing, reading comprehension, vocabulary) and Math (basic arithmetic, algebra, geometry, word problems). Whether students are aiming to improve their grades or strengthen their knowledge, my lessons are designed to help them reach their goals and build lasting academic skills.
