About Andy
I’m a University of Toronto graduate with a background in Computer Science and Theoretical Mathematics, and I have previous tutoring experience working with students at Mathnasium. I enjoy breaking difficult ideas into smaller, clearer steps and helping students see the structure behind a problem instead of just memorizing an answer. I’m patient, approachable, and comfortable working with students at different skill levels, from those who are struggling with the basics to those who want an extra challenge. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy mathematics, programming, and problem solving, and I bring that same curiosity and analytical mindset into my lessons.

I want students to leave each lesson feeling that the math actually makes sense. With a background in Computer Science and Theoretical Mathematics from the University of Toronto, as well as tutoring experience at Mathnasium, I focus on explaining the reasoning behind each method rather than asking students to memorize steps. I adapt lessons to each student’s level and goals, whether they are catching up, preparing for a test, working through homework, or trying to get ahead. I’m patient with students who need more time with the fundamentals, while also challenging stronger students with deeper problems and different ways of thinking. My goal is to help students become more confident, independent problem solvers in algebra, functions, trigonometry, calculus, and introductory university mathematics.
