About My Mandarin Lessons Hi! I’m Rita, a native Mandarin speaker and University of Toronto student. My lessons are designed for learners of all levels—whether you're starting from scratch, preparing for HSK exams, or looking to improve conversational skills. I focus on practical, engaging, and personalized learning. Each session is tailored to your goals and interests, with a balance of speaking, listening, vocabulary, and grammar. I emphasize clear pronunciation (pinyin and tones) and natural conversation to help you build confidence. A typical lesson includes: Quick review and warm-up Themed vocabulary and sentence patterns Speaking practice through dialogue or role-play Cultural tips or real-world context (like menus, TV, or news) I use a calm, supportive approach and adapt my pace to your comfort. My students appreciate how I explain complex ideas in simple, relatable ways—especially if they come from an English-speaking background. Lessons are ideal for: Beginners with no Mandarin experience HSK 1–6 learners Students, working professionals, and culture enthusiasts Let’s make learning Mandarin fun and meaningful!
