About Olivia

I am a student at the University of Toronto with a 3.9 GPA, double-majoring in Philosophy and Ethics, Society and Law as well as minoring in Contemporary Asian Studies. I am a UofT President's Scholar of Excellence and took part in the competitive Munk One Program. I have also received the University of Toronto's Dr. David Chu scholarship which funds my independent research project in Indonesia. Furthermore, I consistently practice my oratorical skills through regular involvement in Model UN and debate. I have previous experience tutoring students at Kumon, managing tutoring services for my high school and for SickKids Hospital, and I am part of Honeyjem's, a South Korean English help organization, tutors. Currently, I have 10 students that I meet on a regular basis and I would be more than happy to help your child too!!

About the lesson

Every student has different learning needs and interests, but school classrooms can only provide one teaching method. Therefore, I strongly believe that the distinguishing factor between school and private tutoring should be individualized learning. Before I begin actual lessons, I will have an initial session of getting to know the student's strengths, weaknesses, interests, and preferred learning styles. I approach teaching with this student-centric perspective and am flexible in altering lesson structures/styles based on feedback from clients. My lessons will be as engaging as possible - I don't want students who dread seeing me!

I can schedule as many lessons a week as you wish, but most of my students meet me 1-3 times per week, depending on their needs and goals. My phone number is (concealed information) if you prefer to text or call me there!
