About Ava
Hi my name is Ava and I am a second-year University of Toronto student majoring in History and minoring in English and Education & Society. I have been tutoring for 3 years. I have the ability to tutor a large range of grades in English from first grade to first year university. I also am fluent in Mandarin and can teach English as a second language to people who speak Mandarin.

Lessons are for everyone ranging from grade one to first year university. What sets me apart is my interdisciplinary education in English and teaching. I have several years of experience tutoring English also from a ESL perspective. A typical lesson looks like reviewing previous lessons or classwork. Then I'll analyze any misunderstandings on concepts and separately discuss them and work on understanding them better with the student. Finally we will work on applying these concepts on a larger scale such as reading comprehension and essay writing.
