About Maria
I am a mom to a 5 year old boy, a professional artist displaying work at museums and galleries, as well as an art instructor. I have taken many drawing classes and have drawn all my life. In the past I tutored children in school subjects, worked as a teacher's assistant, worked with neurodivergent youth as a transitions worker, and taught English to adults.
I aslo studied classical piano for 10 years. I have a bachelor degree in fine arts, with a major in visual arts and art history, a teaching certificate, and a child's first aid certificate.

My lessons are tailored for children youth and adults, beginners to intermediate levels. We start with basic materials and supplies as well as basic drawing skills and build from there. Each student may have more of a preference or strength in a type of subject matter and we can focus on that, whether it is portrait drawing, still life, or landscape. We can also look at adding color using a variety of mediums.
