About Ishika

I've also taught physics, chemistry and math as a tutor at Vrinda International School and have experience tutoring high school students one-on-one, so I understand the common difficulties students face and how to help them move past them.

My lessons are for high school students in Grades 9–12 who want help with math, physics or chemistry, whether you're catching up, preparing for a test or aiming for top marks. I'm a computer science student at the University of Waterloo.
My teaching is built on three steps. First, we focus on understanding each concept fundamentally. Instead of memorizing formulas, you'll learn why things work, building real conceptual clarity that makes even new or tricky questions manageable. Second, once the foundation is solid, I share useful tricks, shortcuts and problem-solving strategies wherever they help, so you can save time and boost your scores on tests and exams. Third, we practice extensively. Working through a wide range of problems, from basic to challenging, develops the accuracy, speed and precision you need to perform with confidence.
A typical lesson looks like this:
– A quick check-in on what you're learning in class and where you're stuck
– A clear, fundamental explanation of the concept
– Helpful shortcuts and exam strategies where they apply
– Guided practice, then independent problem-solving
– A recap and practice questions to reinforce the topic before next time
Support doesn't stop when the lesson ends:
– Notes from every session are shared afterwards
– Session recordings are available on request for later review
– Questions between sessions can be answered by message or a quick call whenever you're stuck
Lessons are online and interactive, using a shared digital whiteboard so we can solve problems together in real time.
