About Akash
Since 2017, I have been teaching privately, as a volunteer student teacher at the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board, as well as through tutoring agencies such as Kumon and Mathnasium. Throughout the last 7 years, I have successfully worked with all ages from 5 to 50, as well as students with disabilities ranging from ADD & ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia to ASD.
I am a BSc Hon. Physics (co-op, class of 2024) graduate and I completed my IB Diploma in 2018. As a physics undergraduate, I have written an expanded undergraduate thesis about narrowing down the Search Parameters for the Search of Habitable Exoplanets, contributing to the Search for Extraterrestrial Life (Narshana, Senko, 2024 UWPHYS academic archive). I have earned the Dean's Honor Roll during my third and fourth years of study.
As an International Baccalaureate student, I achieved a level 7 in Math, which equates to a 97%-100% in the traditional OSSD curriculum, and level 6s in both Physics and Chemistry (out of a maximum of 7) which equates to a 93%-96%.

My teaching methods are tailored to better explain the ins and outs of a topic by emphasizing the underlying concepts that build up to a deeper understanding of any given subject area. Because of the nature of topics such as Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, I place a bigger focus on the process and mechanism behind a problem rather than the final solution itself.
A typical session may consist of a brief introduction to the recurring themes within the topic in question, followed by an annotated example of the type of problems that the student expresses concern about, though the specific lesson structure will vary based on a student's individual strengths & weaknesses (identified through an assessment completed during our first session). I will then work with the student to identify and rebuild any missing knowledge or understanding required to achieve proficiency, and then let them solve more and more challenging problems with progressively more independence until they can reliably and confidently work through any situation presented.
Once both the techniques used to solve a problem as well as the subtleties and details of a topic are understood, I believe that the subject in question can be better known and applied as a whole.
Please inform me about any known learning disabilities and I will adapt my teaching methods and the curriculum accordingly.

Perfect! Akash is knowledgeable and very helpful
Perfect! Akash has the qualities of a great tutor, he's patient, caring, understanding and I'm comfortable in class. He adds clarity to topics and I'm not afraid to ask questions.
- Aryan is a diligent student with a strong drive to get better at mathematics. While hasty at first, he is quickly learning to be more thorough and precise with his approach to problem solving, and is able to grasp new concepts with surprising ease. Practicing problems similar to those covered in the tutoring sessions will greatly improve his performance and will help him build a strong foundation going forward.See the response Akash :
