Bonjour à tous! As your French tutor, it is my utmost priority to ensure that each of you feels supported, empowered, and confident in your language learning journey. Allow me to share a bit about myself and my approach to teaching to help establish a strong foundation of trust and professionalism.

With a diploma in Bilingual studies and literature and three years of experience in teaching French to students of various backgrounds and proficiency levels, I bring a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and passion to our learning sessions. My journey with French language began from a place of genuine love and curiosity, as I lived through the cultures of French Speaking Countries and the vibrant city of Quebec. That love has since evolved into a lifelong dedication to sharing this beautiful language and culture with others.

I understand that learning a new language can be both exhilarating and challenging, and I am here to guide you every step of the way. My teaching philosophy revolves around creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued, heard, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Whether you're just starting your French language journey or aiming to refine your advanced skills, I am committed to providing personalized instruction tailored to your unique needs, goals, and learning style.

About the lesson

I combine methodologies that would relate course content to real-life situations, current events, and practical applications that would foster a deeper engagement for students as they see the relevance and significance of what they are learning, fostering deeper engagement and motivation.
I also encourage students to actively participate in the learning process through activities such as discussions, debates, group projects, and hands-on experiments.

My lesson Plan includes Interactive activities (role-playing scenarios, matching games) within a duration of 1 hour as displayed below:

Introduction (5 minutes):
Greet students in French ("Bonjour! Comment ça va?") and ask them how they are doing.
Briefly explain the objectives of the lesson and what students will learn.

2. Warm-up Activity (10 minutes):
Show pictures or use flashcards to elicit common French greetings (e.g., "Bonjour," "Salut," "Ça va?").
Practice pronunciation of greetings with the whole class.

3. Vocabulary Presentation (15 minutes):
Introduce vocabulary related to greetings and introductions.

4. Practice Activities (20 minutes):
Conduct a matching game where students match French greetings with their English translations.

5. Guided Practice (5 minutes):
Provide feedback and guidance as students practice speaking French with their partners.

6. Wrap-up and Review (10 minutes):
Review of key vocabulary and phrases learned in the lesson.

My genuine passion for teaching and love for the French language will inspire my students and foster a positive learning environment. My enthusiasm will motivate students to engage with the material and strive for excellence whilst incorporating creative and innovative teaching strategies, such as games, role-plays, and multimedia resources, can make learning more engaging and memorable for students. Language teaching is an ongoing process of learning and growth and I always stay updated on the latest teaching methodologies, technologies, and resources to continually improve tutoring and provide the best possible learning experience for my students. I understand the challenge of learning a new language and also the need for patience, empathy, support and encouragement in students' struggles.

My customized instruction will cater to the learning needs of students at the beginner and lower intermediate levels.
