• 1) Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

  My first experience using a computer was when I was 10 years old and I signed up for a basic programming class. I remember how excited I was to make shapes and text appear on the screen by typing commands. As simple as it was, seeing the code execute to produce visual results felt like magic. I was hooked and went on to learn more complex coding languages, constantly experimenting on my own computer at home. That early exposure to programming really sparked my lifelong passion for computer science and technology.

• 2) What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

  The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence and machine learning in recent years has been the most remarkable to me. We are at the cusp of a new technological revolution with AI that will transform nearly every industry. Major innovations like self-driving vehicles and advances in computer vision are just the beginning.

• 3) Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

  My expertise is in artificial intelligence, with a focus on natural language processing and neural networks. I'm fascinated by the ability of machines to understand and generate human language. NLP has countless valuable applications, from conversational assistants to analyzing text data for insights. As AI continues advancing, NLP will enable technology to interact with us in more natural and meaningful ways.

• 4) Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

  While the famous tech visionaries have achieved incredible feats, I'm also inspired by unsung heroes like Alan Turing whose groundbreaking work laid the foundations for modern computing and AI. Beyond personalities, what drives me is the future potential for technology to solve pressing global issues.

• 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  Early in my computer science degree, I struggled to grasp neural networks. But after a wise professor used the analogy of connections between neurons in the brain, I had an "aha" moment. It taught me the power of using examples relatable to human experience.

• 6) What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

  I would emphasize that the core logic behind information technology is accessible to anyone with basic math skills. While some highly complex systems require advanced knowledge, getting started with basic coding or using common software does not need prior expertise. I would encourage them to take small steps to slowly demystify technology.

• 7) What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

  Aside from computers, I'm an avid reader of science fiction which imagines futuristic technological advances. I also enjoy outdoor activities like hiking which provide a refreshing change from screens!
