About Lex
Hi, I'm Lex! I recently finished a Master's degree in Ancient Greek at the University of Oxford, and I hold an Honours Bachelor of Arts (High Distinction) with a double major in Linguistics and Ancient Greek from the University of Toronto. My patience and passion make me a great teacher, and I'm positive we'll have lots to learn from each other!
My profile here is mainly focused on language-related subjects, but my knowledge can be applied to many fields! For example, I can teach:
- English (spelling, grammar, comprehension, etc.)
- Academic and professional writing (high school and university papers, cover letters, admissions essays, and more)
- Linguistics (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, etc.)
- Ancient Greek language (beginner to advanced)
- Latin (beginner to intermediate)
- Singing/vocology
- Guitar and music theory for beginners
- Essentials of technology and media literacy for seniors
...and more! Got questions? I have answers, and I can't wait to share them! Get in touch with me and I'd love to discuss how I can help you.

I offer goal-driven lessons: you tell me what you'd like to learn and we'll work on it together. Whether there's a specific element of grammar eluding you, you're struggling to write cohesive essays, or you're just interested in picking up some new skills, I'm ready to help you help yourself!
My lessons can be as wide or narrow in scope as needed for your situation. Wanting to learn some Ancient Greek or principles of linguistics? I can put together a structured, personalized course for you and we can. Just looking for some help with an essay or cover letter? No problem - we'll polish it up together and you'll walk away with the skills needed to apply the same principles of writing to future projects.
I have more than ten years' experience caring for and working with children of all ages, and have previously tutored both high school students and adults in topics related to English, especially essay writing skills. I'm happy to teach people of all ages and experience levels - it's never too late to learn something new! I'm available for short- or long-term classes, in person or online, and I have a flexible schedule, so I'm positive we can find something that works for you. Questions? Please don't hesitate to contact me! I'd love to discuss your needs further and determine whether I'd be a good fit for you or your child.

Lex is a professional, respectful and efficient teacher. Last year, after struggling with a topic for 3 weeks, I sat down with Lex and they taught it to me in 45 minutes while making no judgements. They made the enterprise fun. Lex is excellent to work from and loves what they teach.
