About Sasha

Hi,
I'm now an international MA student at the University of Edinburgh. I just completed my bachelor's study in the US this May and move to the UK recently. I have stayed in the US for over 7 years and had taught a lot of American kids Chinese and taught Chinese kids English! I am in design major so I always try to keep my mind creative. I am an outgoing, talkative, patient, and passionate person and hope could bring you positive energy all the time. I'm a cat person and I took my cats with me from the US, if you like cats, we would have tons of words to share together!!

Let's talk and study with me in whatever Chinese or English teaching. By the way, I'm also good at math (algebra, etc), physics, and chemistry probably meets your stereotype of a straight-A Chinese student.

About the lesson

Each lesson will begin with our daily conversations to help strengthen speaking and listening skills in the language. And I believe speaking out is more important than reading & writing.

For beginners, our main requirements are listening and speaking. We will start with the phonetic structure of words and learn how to read words accurately according to the phonetic alphabet. We will learn the most basic words and try to write them out. However, the main focus for beginners will be on recognizing and consolidating the most everyday sentences through simulations under different situations, ex, dining scene, shopping scene, theater scene, etc.

For advanced speakers, improving fluency in everyday conversation and learning terminology is essential. We will focus more on reading and writing during class. For the listening and speaking part, we would start to sing songs and watch movies, and try to translate them.

Finally, depending on the level of the student and the different requirements, the course may include some post-course mini-assignments.
