About Adam
I'm a Computer Science graduate of the University of Oxford, and I have been tutoring for over 9 years. I have trained 120+ American students for USACO (10+ promoted to Silver, 60+ to Gold, 20+ to Platinum). I also teach AP Computer Science A (almost 400 American students, over 91% scoring a 5) and coach the Canadian Computing Competition (70+ Canadian students, 6 of whom won full scholarships to the University of Waterloo). 54 of my American students have been admitted to Ivy League universities.

USACO rewards students who have solved many problems, not students who have read about many algorithms. So the lessons keep theory to a minimum and spend the time on past contests and carefully selected problems. We start with a diagnostic to find the right division. After that, every lesson follows the same loop: the student attempts a problem, we find exactly where the approach breaks, I teach the technique the problem requires, and I assign similar problems for practice. Bronze: simulation, complete search, sorting, and writing code that passes every test case, not just the samples. Silver: prefix sums, binary search, two pointers, greedy algorithms, DFS/BFS, and flood fill. Gold: dynamic programming, shortest paths, disjoint set union, and minimum spanning trees. Lessons are in C++, Java, or Python. I recommend C++ from Silver onward, where run time starts to matter. Before each contest we run timed mock contests, then review every missed test case. At one lesson a week, the course takes about a year. At two a week, about six months. Message me with your current division and your target, and I'll tell you where to start.

I’ve known Adam for about 8 years, and over that time I’ve had the chance to see not only what an amazing friend he is, but also how naturally he teaches and supports others. We’ve volunteered together, and I was always impressed by how patient, organized, and encouraging he was, especially when working with children. He has a way of making people feel comfortable and confident while learning.
One of the things I appreciate most about Adam is his teaching style. He’s incredibly patient, explains things clearly, and never makes anyone feel judged for asking questions. He’s punctual, goal-oriented, and leads by example, which makes it easy to trust and learn from him. He genuinely cares about helping others succeed and always takes the time to adapt to each person’s needs.
During our volunteering experience together, I saw firsthand how kind, dependable, and approachable he is. Whether he was helping children learn something new or supporting the rest of the team, he always brought positive energy and professionalism. His leadership qualities stood out because he was always willing to step up, help others, and make sure everyone felt included.
I wholeheartedly recommend Adam as a tutor. He’s knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated to helping his students reach their full potential. Anyone learning with him will be in excellent hands.Adam who I’ve known for the better part of 9 years has always been someone who devotes much time and practice explaining concepts in a good way.
Adam is very helpful. He is so patient and very knowledgeable. I really recommend him!
I had the opportunity to cross paths with Adam over 5 years ago. I learned to know him as a hard working, intelligent and punctual professional. Adam takes his work very seriously and doesn’t settle for “okey”. He strives to achieve the best in his work life, which also extends to other aspects of who he is. Adam has an excellent skill in breaking down complex concepts into smaller understandable units. Teaching comes natural to him for all ages. I recommended Adam as a teacher and as a professional.
