I am an educator, writer, researcher with 29 years experience, and I have a passion for teaching and learning. I earned a Bachelor of Education, a Post-Bachelor of Education, a Master's Degree in Curriculum, and a Doctoral Degree in Philosophy. I taught K-12, college level, and university level as well. I taught French Immersion in British Columbia, Canada for 18 years, and English as a second language for 2 years, in the South of France. I also taught Core French for 3 years in North Vancouver, B.C., Canada. I am a workshop presenter and had the privilege to share my savoir-faire with teachers and administrators in Canada, France, England, United States, and South Australia.
I am a firm believer in facilitating learning with extensive knowledge in Constructivism, Multiple Intelligences, Emotional Intelligence, and Brain-based learning. I prefer holistic teaching methods.
I raised 5 children and taught hundreds of individuals of all ages. My students had deep affection for me and some called me "mom" as a parent reminded me not long ago. I encourage students to excel and to deepen their understanding of facts rather than to mechanically get the right answers. I strongly recommend curiosity and critical thinking as a means to treat learning material in the classroom. Efforts are always rewarded and failure is seen as set-backs.
I have an eclectic professional experience thank to my seeking knowledge in different domains and countries. I studied in France, Canada, and the United States. I earned some diplomas in France, bachelors and Master's degree at Simon Fraser University, in British Columbia, Canada, and my Ph.D. in the United States.
