About Mason
I am a skilled saxophone tutor with 11 years of experience teaching college students. I believe learning music should be enjoyable, organized, and confidence-building. My teaching style focuses on strong fundamentals, creativity, and continuous improvement.
I help students develop tone quality, breath control, finger coordination, rhythm, and musical expression. Improvisation and performance practice help students gain confidence and musical freedom. I use real-life examples so students understand how techniques work in actual music.
I apply modern teaching methods such as recording reviews, play-along practice, and personalized feedback. Music theory, ear training, and sight-reading are included to strengthen overall musical understanding.
My lessons are supportive and motivating, helping students enjoy learning while developing discipline and skill.

My approach to teaching Saxophone is student-focused and well-structured. I believe every student learns at a different pace, so I adjust lessons to match individual needs. I focus on developing strong basics such as breathing technique, posture, embouchure strength, finger accuracy, tone clarity, and timing through simple explanations and step-by-step exercises.
Creativity plays a major role in my teaching. Students are encouraged to explore musical ideas, play familiar tunes, and practice guided improvisation. As a mentor, I support students with patience and encouragement, helping them stay confident and motivated.
Critical thinking is encouraged by teaching students how to listen carefully, analyze their playing, and correct mistakes independently. Accountability is maintained through practice routines, weekly goals, and regular feedback. Along with Saxophone lessons, I also teach Music Theory, Rhythm Exercises, Ear Training, and Scale Studies.
