About Michael
For the past 23 years I have been employed full time by a public school board in Ontario, Canada. I have experience teaching in the classroom from kindergarten to grade 12, and presently work fully online for a permanent public highschool and am skilled with creating virtual lessons and assignments to help each student meet their own learning goals. In my private time I am a contract tutor, currently catering to students in Asia wishing to develop their English skills to attend schools in the Americas one day. As such, I have experience with how to approach new language learners, but also have assisted with the creation of resumes, cover letters, university application essays, and AP presentations.

As a father of two, and a life-long learner myself, I appreciate anyone that wants to better their skills and cater lessons to match the requests of the student and use topics that intertest them. My approach is friendly, but driven. I make sure each student has clear goals they want to achieve, and work with them to meet them. Homework is given each class so that class and taken up the next. Constructive feedback is offered for each activity to help the student develop their skills. Classes can be very formal and efficient to maximize learning, or more relaxed with games, and other learning activities meant to keep the interest of distracted or young learners. Feedback is given after each class in writing so that the student knows how they are progressing. I am very flexible and attentive and want students to succeed in meeting their goals.
